Now, the EcoChar Phoenix 8000 lets you add the versatility to convert your wood waste into a valuable biochar product in addition to the mulch or compost you’re already producing.
EcoChar harnesses the potential of wood waste and green waste by heating it at very high temperatures with little oxygen. This reduces its volume up to 90% (depending on the feedstock’s moisture content and calorific value) and produces a highly porous and lightweight material called biochar. The process is much more environmentally friendly than incineration and releases almost no contaminating fumes. Biochar is a sought-after soil amendment that helps improve soil health and fertility.

ECO-FRIENDLY POWERPLANT
Dual power hybrid FPT F36 3.6-liter certified EPA Tier 5 engine, diesel generator and mains, electric inlet port with voltage synchronization.
CONTROL SYSTEM
Independent and automated system manages equipment for optimal combustion and biochar production. Built-in telematics, data logging, and wireless remote-control operation.
HIGH PROCESSING CAPACITY
Processes up to 12 tons of dry, clean wood per hour. Rate depends on the composition of feedstock, moisture content, and calorific value of material.
REFRACTORY CONCRETE
20 refractory panels consisting of 2” twin insulation layers and 4” hot face and removable refractory entry door rated to 3000° F.
TEMPERATURE MONITORING
6 thermocouples rated to 3000° F for temperature monitoring, process program optimization, and biochar production maximization.
WIRE MESH CONVEYORS
Strong, temperature resistant stainless steel mesh belts allow water-quenched biochar to cool and water to run through for better moisture control in final product.
AUGER / BIOCHAR DISCHARGE
Water quench system with 3 variable speed water cooled augers, each driven independently by an electric motor and gearbox.
AIR CURTAIN
Electric overfire air curtain reduces smoke and particulate matter escape when processing clean wood waste and underfire fan stokes combustion.
