The BACKHUS® A50 and A55 are built for composters who need serious throughput. Both machines handle large windrows with efficiency and precision, making them a popular choice for high-volume commercial and municipal composting operations across North America.

The A50 processes over 5,200 cubic yards per hour and handles windrows up to 16 feet wide and 11 feet tall. The A55 steps that up to 5,900 cubic yards per hour with windrow capacity up to 18 feet wide and 8 feet tall. Both models come standard with a high-torque drum, Cummins diesel power plant, hydraulic tailgate, large track cleats, reversing cooling fan, self-diagnostic CAN bus control system, and a 360-degree elevating cabin.

Operating independently of the frame and drum position, the clearers are very easily controlled to provide toe-to-toe windrow placement. The one-touch ‘float’ feature maintains constant contact with the pad.
